Kai Havertz makes up his mind to move to Chelsea
According to German publication Kicker (h/t Express), German sensation Kai Havertz has made up his mind to move to Chelsea.
One of the most in-demand players across the continent, the 21-year-old is not short of suitors. Chelsea is one of the foremost names on the list. It now appears that Havertz too is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
According to the report, Havertz has informed the Bayer Leverkusen boss that he does not want to wait any longer before taking the next step in his career.
Following Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, Havertz would be another coup for the club. The likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United are all keeping tabs on the youngster. (h/t Express)
However, none of the clubs are yet to meet the midfielder’s £90million price tag. Havertz is not keen to wait another year, especially since Bayer Leverkusen failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
It must be remembered though that the German can still achieve the feat if they win the Europa League when it resumes later this year.
Havertz is impressed by Chelsea’s project under Frank Lampard. The Blues have shown plenty of promise in what has been a stellar debut season for the boss in the top-flight.
Leverkusen are not keen to be shortchanged and will stick to their valuation of the player. If it comes to pass, Havertz will be the third German in the Chelsea squad following Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger.

Havertz has a brilliant return of 17 goals and 9 assists from 43 games in all competitions this season. He could add to that tally once the Europa League resumes next month, provided he stays at the club.
