Chelsea star opens up on Lampard’s reaction after Sheffield United loss

Tammy Abraham reveals Frank Lampard was frustrated following Sheffield United slip-up

According to the club’s official website, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has revealed that manager Frank Lampard was as disappointed as the players at Bramall Lane.

The Blues put in an insipid performance and were beaten 3-0 on the night. A defensive disaster show was followed up by a profligate attack as the Blades breezed to a win.

“He let us know how he was feeling after the game,We got into the changing room and we already knew ourselves so there wasn’t much for him to say.”

Abraham was gracious in defeat and did not make any excuses. He credits the Blades for disrupting Chelsea’s style and rhythm.

“They scored an early goal which frustrated us, and we didn’t react.”

Chelsea had all the possession but could not make it count. Sheffield, on the other hand, took their chances well.

The Blues adopted a different system at half -time. However, having gone in 2-0 down at the break, the damage was already done.

Throwing players forward left us open at the back. Given our defensive weakness and the chances they had, it is a miracle that the Blades scored just once in the second half.

Chelsea take on a relegated Norwich City in the next fixture. There can be no room for error, and anything less than three points would be disastrous. A response is demanded and it’s time for the players to show they have learned from the loss.

A win would have boosted our chances of a top-four finish. But if the worst comes to pass, we could find ourselves in fifth place if Leicester City and Manchester United win their games in hand.

With us yet to face Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers, our task is not made easier by this slip-up.
