Twitter reacts as Chelsea close in on Ugurcan Cakir
Turkish source Haber365 tweeted earlier today that Chelsea have agreed on a deal for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
The 24-year-old has played a key role in Trabzonspor’s title challenge this season and has missed just one match in the Turkish top-flight. Trabzonspor are currently four points off the table behind Istanbul Basaksehir.
He was earlier touted as a target for Chelsea who could be in the market for a new keeper.
Kepa Arrizabalaga has endured a difficult time and his run as Chelsea number one could be coming to an end.
Although we cannot vouch for the reliability of the source, it was enough to set a number of fans to take to social media to comment on the matter.
We take a look at a few of them below. It is fair to say that opinion so far seems to be divided.

I have no idea if this Cakir dude is any good or not, never watched him play. However there are no post shot stats of him on fbref, he’s from a shit league and frankly I don’t trust a GK scouting department that thought spending 72m on Kepa was a good idea. So I’m skeptical

Please tell me the rumours we’ve signed Cakir are true.

He had a unique style of charging out to make saves which makes him difficult to beat.
Our former coach, Eddie Newton works there so must have recommended him

– 6″3 Commanding Turkish International
– Amazing reflexes and shot stopping abilities

Oh man please… Cakir is a fucking weapon

All I am going to say as of now is that Cakir is rated as a very good up and coming goalkeeper. Sharp reflexes and tall he has the essentials. If anything with Caballero reaching the end Cakir would be more than fair competition for Kepa or an interesting replacement.
