Inter Milan have eyes on three Chelsea players
According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Mirror), Inter Milan are eyeing a triple summer swoop on Chelsea, as they eye moves for Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri and Olivier Giroud.
Inter Milan are managed by former Chelsea boss Olivier Giroud. It was he who brought Alonso, Emerson and Giroud to Stamford Bridge during his reign at the club. And the Nerazzurri boss is keen on a reunion with the trio. (h/t Mirror)
Since becoming the manager of Inter Milan last summer, Conte has made it a habit of raiding Premier League clubs for players. Last summer saw the Italian sign Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (loan) from Manchester United.
He then signed Christian Eriksen, Ashley Young in January, along with Chelsea star Victor Moses, who moved to Italy on loan. And now, he is eyeing another raid on the club for the trio of Giroud, Alonso and Emerson.
It is pretty much certain that either of Alonso or Emerson could be offloaded this summer, given how consistently inconsistent they have been at left-back. Manager Frank Lampard has his sights set on a new left-back, with Ben Chilwell emerging as our top target.
In fact, it is even being claimed by an alternate report from Sky Sports that Inter have already opened talks with Chelsea over a transfer for Emerson.
Alonso, on the other hand, had done well of late. But his dismal display against West Ham United last time exposed his shortcomings. And Lampard wasn’t impressed by the Spaniard.
As far as Giroud is considered, the 33-year-old had been linked heavily with Inter Milan back in January. But a move did not materialise, with the Frenchman signing a new one-year contract at the club.

But with the signing of Timo Werner, he will be pushed further down the pecking order. And Inter Milan are hoping to make the most of the situation. (h/t Mirror)
With Emerson, an exit seems pretty much a certainty. If we end up selling Alonso as well, we may be left short in numbers at left-back, while Giroud remains a valuable squad member. So, it will be interesting to see how the club deals with the futures of the trio in the coming weeks.
