West Ham United still keen on Chelsea star Ross Barkley
According to a report from the Mirror, West Ham United have reignited their interested in Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley, with David Moyes keen on working with his former protege.
The 26-year-old Barkley was brought into the first-team at Everton by Moyes. Having impressed heavily during his time with the Toffees, the England international made the switch to Chelsea in January 2018.
While he has shown flashes of his talent, his time at Stamford Bridge has largely been blighted by inconsistencies.
The 26-year-old has featured in our last three matches, but for majority of the season, he has been behind the likes of Mason Mount, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic.
With Ruben Loftus-Cheek also back in action, Barkley could find game time hard to come by moving forward. And Moyes is hoping to convince the 26-year-old to make the jump to West Ham with the lure of first-team football, ahead of the Euros next summer. (h/t Mirror)
Barkley has featured just 24 times for us this season. He has managed four goals and four assists in the process. The England international had been in good form prior to the suspension of the season. He also happened to score the only goal of the game in the FA Cup quarterfinals against Leicester.

Barkley still has three years left on his contract with Chelsea. Given the number of options in the position, it might not be the worst idea to offload the midfielder this summer. His sale would alternatively help us generate funds to pursue Kai Havertz.
It remains to be what the future holds for the 33-time capped England international.
