Twitter reacts as Mario Pasalic joins Atalanta for £13.5m

Chelsea have officially confirmed that forgotten midfielder Mario Pasalic has joined Atalanta for £13.5m.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed loan spells at the Italian side over the last two seasons. During that time, he notched up 15 goals and 13 assists in 75 appearances.

The Croatian has played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s run to the quarter-finals. He has scored two goals and two assists in eight appearances. (h/t Transfermarkt)

He failed to make a single senior appearance in his six years at Chelsea. It is unfortunate that he has not been able to get a chance at the club. Pasalic has proved to be an excellent midfielder in Serie A and it is interesting to think what he could have done for us.
