Willian speaks out on future amid Arsenal, Manchester United interest
As reported by the Metro, Willian has refused to rule out an exit from Chelsea at the end of the season, amid interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.
The 31-year-old Brazilian joined our club back in 2013 and has been a great servant. During his time at Stamford Bridge, Willian has won two Premier League titles, the League Cup, the A Cup as well as the Europa League last season.
However, with his contract up for expiry, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding his immediate future at the club. The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have all expressed an interest in acquiring the winger’s services on a free transfer. (h/t Metro)
Willian agreed a short-term extension with Chelsea to see out the elongated 2019/20 campaign. And while manager Frank Lampard hinted that the Brazilian could be set for a longer stay, the winger himself has appeared non-committal. (h/t Metro)
“I want to finish the season well if I go, or maybe I can stay. I don’t know but what I want now is to play well and for Chelsea to finish in the top four.”
Willian, despite his advancing years, has been a valuable member of Lampard’s team this season. The winger scored the winner against Manchester City earlier this week and has netted eight times in total this season, while setting up six more.
