Sergio Aguero to miss Chelsea clash

According to the Evening Standard, Manchester City star Sergio Aguero is set to miss the crunch clash against Chelsea due to injury.

The Argentine international is one of the finest strikers in Premier League history. Given our difficulties in defence, the 32-year-old would have presented a formidable threat to our rearguard.

Although it hardly tips the scales in our balance, Aguero’s absence will give us some leeway in handling the City attack.

The Argentine limped off in first-half injury time as City put a hapless Burnley side to the sword.

Guardiola revealed afterwards that Aguero had been struggling before the match. He is concerned the incident will rule him out for the remainder of the campaign.

The Spanish tactician has confirmed that the player has had issues with his knee and that the situation does not look good. (h/t BBC)

Frank Lampard’s side have struggled from the defensive point of view this season. The Blues once again had to come from behind to win all three points against Aston Villa last weekend.

Despite being in his 30s, Aguero is the defending champions’ ace striker. He has scored 23 goals and four assists in 32 games this season. (h/t Transfermarkt)

We would like to wish Aguero the very best and hope he recovers as soon as possible. It is never a good thing to see players getting injured.

The Blues face a tough doubleheader as we go up against Leicester City and Manchester City back to back.

From the looks of it, Wolverhampton Wanderers look set to be our biggest rivals for the fourth spot. With us yet to face them, it is imperative that we take as many points as we can from the next two fixtures.
