Chelsea fans react as Ben Chilwell scores stunner for Leicester City against Watford
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a transfer for Leicester City star Ben Chilwell for quite some time now.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen to bring in a left-back. He has been unimpressed by Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri, and has taken to playing Cesar Azpilicueta there, out of position. And Chilwell, has emerged as a top target, despite his £80m valuation. (h/t Metro)
The 23-year-old, a product of the Foxes’ academy, has become one of the best left-backs in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons. He has been an ever-present in the Leicester side as they sit third in the league currently.
A proper modern day full-back with great attacking capabilities as well as defensive nous, Chilwell provided more evidence of why Chelsea are lining up to sign the defender.
In the Foxes’ first game after the resumption of the Premier League, against Watford, the 23-year-old scored with a thunderous effort from the edge of the area. The strike displayed tremendous technique and power and was unstoppable.
Chelsea fans, impressed by the England international’s strike, flocked to Twitter to urge the club to make a move for him, irrespective of how much he costs. Here are some of the reactions from the club’s supporters.

Chilwell and Benrahma scoring. Now we’re salivating. Give him the pen. Tell him to write whatever he wants on the contract. Franks at the wheel baby. Chelsea are back.
