Chelsea keen on signing impressive 16-year-old starlet as quick as Aubameyang

Chelsea leading race to sign Nnamdi Collins

According to German publication Bild (h/t Metro), Chelsea are in pole position to sign talented Borussia Dortmund starlet Nndami Collins.

The 16-year-old is considered to be one of the outstanding young German talents and has been tipped for a bright future.

He currently captains the German Under-16 team and has drawn attention from a number of Europe’s top clubs. Manchester City are also keen on bringing the player to England.

An extremely quick player, Collins is capable of running 30 meters in just 3.8 seconds. The time is just a tenth of a second slower than Arsenal speed merchant Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyabng.

Given that Collins has more than a decade and a half to go in his career, it should only be a matter of time before he breaks the Gabonese international’s record.

According to the report, Chelsea has already put together a transfer package for Dortmund worth around £1.75 million. Collins has one more year to go on his current contact in Germany.

It is likely that Dortmund will be forced to sell him if they cannot convince him to extend his stay. The Germans are keen to keep hold of their prodigy with sporting director Michael Zorc personally taking charge of negotiations.

He has promised Collins that he will not only be promoted to the Under-19 team but also train regularly with the senior side.

The Blues interest is not new, with them having scouted the player for the last three years. Chelsea believes that the player can be the lynchpin of the Stamford Bridge defence for years to come.

Collins is also a leader and a model athlete. He has played in all of the Under-16 side’s games and has scored four goals.
