Frank Lampard urges Chelsea board to beat Man Utd and sign Declan Rice
According to a report by The Metro, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has urged the Chelsea board to sign West Ham United ace Declan Rice.
The young midfielder, who is also a target for Manchester United (h/t The Metro), was incidentally yet another one who got away for us.
In addition to the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah – both of whom left us as very young players – Rice is another name added to the list.
The West Ham player has been phenomenal in the English top-flight since breaking into the first-team. At a time when the Hammers were struggling to replace an ageing midfield unit, Rice burst onto the scene and established himself as a force to reckon with.
Although he started his career as a centre-back, the 21-year-old is a full-blown defensive midfielder right now.
The Metro adds that a fee of about £75m would be enough to lure him to Stamford Bridge but that would depend on whether or not West Ham are able to retain their Premier League status.
