Chelsea set Marcos Alonso asking price amidst Inter Milan interest
According to a report by Daily Express, Chelsea have set an asking price for Marcos Alonso, who has attracted interest from Serie A giants Inter Milan ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The defender has endured tough times in the ongoing campaign. While Frank Lampard’s appointment as the manager has benefitted a great number of players in the squad, Alonso has found himself on the periphery.
As a matter of fact, he has made just 19 appearances across competitions this season.
The left-back enjoyed an instrumental role under previous managers like Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri. However, he has found himself limited to making sporadic appearances this season.
As a result, his game time has dipped and the 29-year-old is far too experienced and talented to be warming the benches at Stamford Bridge.
Inter’s interest in him has come at the right time since his sale would add some funds for Lampard in the summer. And it would be a sizeable sum.
As per Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Daily Express), Chelsea are demanding £26m for his services.
