A fan-favorite at Vicarage Road, the 27-year-old has garnered interest from Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United.
Doucoure joined the Hornets from Rennes in 2016. He has gone on to make 125 appearances for the club whilst scoring 16 goals.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is a fan of the midfielder and made a last ditch attempt to sign him in the January transfer window. (h/t Metro)
A dynamic presence on the field, Doucoure can be a dominant box to box midfielder to the Blues. The Chelsea midfield has lacked drive and directness at times and the Frenchman is just the player to add it.
Doucoure has admitted that this could be his last season at Watford. His preference of staying in England should come as music to the ears of Lampard.
The player is keen on moving to a Champions League club. A victory for Chelsea over United this weekend can not only dent The Red Devils’s top four hopes but also throw a spanner into their attempts at signing Doucoure.
