Frank Lampard keen on signing Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi
Chelsea are making plans for the January window should their transfer ban get lifted, according to the Express (h/t Metro).
The Blues couldn’t sign any players in the summer with Frank Lampard having to stick with what he had.
However, Ruslan Malinovskyi is a target for Lampard after Claude Makelele’s glowing review (h/t Metro).
The Ukrainian has been excellent for Atalanta this season and Makelele watched the 26-year-old last week.
The report adds that after the scouting report from the former Blue, Chelsea will keep an eye on the defensive midfielder.
The 26-year-old is contracted with Atalanta till 2024 after joining the side in the summer. The midfielder has featured in nine games for the Serie A side and has even scored thrice for the national team.
Chelsea need to prepare for some big spending
Lampard has done a decent job without bringing any new players in, but we have to strengthen the side.
Sticking with youth isn’t a bad option but we need to find some decent buys and back the manager.
We are banned till the summer from buying any new players, and it will be interesting to see who all we target.
Malinovskyi could be a decent signing for the future but we have to be wary of getting players from other leagues.
