This Chelsea star with £35m release clause likely to return to Stamford Bridge after flop loan spell

Chelsea-bound Bakayoko likely to return to Stamford Bridge after an underwhelming loan spell at Milan

Chelsea FC News: Tiemoue Bakayoko is likely to return to Chelsea as his loan spell with Ac Milan ends this season.

And the Serie A giants are also unwilling to extract the defender’s buyout clause of £35million.

LONDON, ENGLAND – AUGUST 27: Tiemoue Bakayoko of Chelsea during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Everton at Stamford Bridge on August 27, 2017 in London, England.

Upon signing from Monaco in 2017, the French defender failed to live up to his expectations, eventually receiving sticks from the fans and the pundits.

And the 24-year-old’s poor form continued in Serie A as well, which led to a falling-out with manager Gattuso.

Bakoyoko has made 29 appearances for Milan and showed certain progress in the latter half of the season.

Future at Stamford Bridge

With the speculated return to Stamford Bridge, Bakayoko has a mammoth task ahead of him to replace the primary defenders Rudiger and David Luiz, who have fared brilliantly this season.

Furthermore, Andre Christensen, the 23-year-old  Danish defender also showed signs of promise as he garnered 26 appearances this season.

The Blues were hit with a big blow as they were handed transfer ban for the next two transfer windows by FIFA.
