Chelsea centre-forward Olivier Giroud has demanded more game time at the club and admitted he could leave at the end of the season.
The France international, 32, has never been a regular starter at Chelsea since joining from London rivals Arsenal in January 2018. He started this season as first-choice but after Gonzalo Higuain’s arrival in the winter transfer window, the 32-year-old has had limited opportunities in the Premier League.
Although Olivier Giroud has been a regular starter for the Blues in the Europa League, the Frenchman remains ‘frustrated’ with his role as a back-up striker and revealed he has received offers from other clubs.
“I am frustrated when not on the pitch, but I just don’t want to show it,” Giroud was quoted by The Metro.
“I am not happy to be the second striker. I don’t know [if I will be here next season] you have to speak to Marina [Granovskaia]. I want to enjoy my football. It must be decided by the end of the season. ‘Yes [I have received offers from other clubs] but I cannot tell you yet. I am focused on Chelsea.”
Giroud signed an 18-month contract at Stamford Bridge when moving from Arsenal in January 2018. His contract expires this summer, although we have the option to trigger a one-year extension.

The Frenchman is one of the underrated strikers in the Premier League and our club should keep hold of him at any cost. As we wait to discover whether Fifa’s two-window transfer ban will come into fruition in the summer, it’s important Maurizio Sarri starts planning for the next season from now on.
