Real Madrid goalkeeper and former Chelsea player Thibaut Courtois wants to link up with Eden Hazard at the La Liga club.
The Belgian keeper moved to Madrid from London this summer but hasn’t had a great season. Real have been in turmoil after sacking Julen Lopetegui, replacing him with Santiago Solari. The La Liga giants sold Cristiano Ronaldo and are trailing Barcelona in the league.
The Metro adds that Hazard has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital, along with Neymar. However, Courtois told Het Nieuwsblad (h/t Metro) that he prefers his Chelsea teammate at the club:
“I [would] choose Eden, of course. I really like him, but the choice is up to the board.”
The keeper was quick to add that he wasn’t sure of what would happen, and the final decision would be taken by the management and the chairman.
Losing Hazard would be a huge problem for Maurizio Sarri, but the Italian was provided with something to smile about as we thrashed Huddersfield 5-0.
Hazard scored a brace in that game and Gonzalo Higuain scored a pair too. The Blues need to keep winning to ensure a top-four spot and it will be interesting to see how the remainder of the campaign pans out.
