Chelsea consider replacing star player with £45million-rated Serie A defender

The Mirror reports that Maurizio Sarri risks upsetting his squad even further by signing £45million-rated Elseid Hysaj from Napoli.

The Albanian right-back could usurp captain Cesar Azpilicueta, and Sarri had already attacked the team after the 2-0 loss to Arsenal regarding their motivation.

The report adds that Chelsea are interested in a loan move for the 24-year-old, however, Napoli are looking at selling the right-back.

The Albanian has fallen out-of-favour under Carlo Ancelotti and could become another former player to link-up with the Italian manager.

Sarri signed Jorginho at the start of the campaign, but the midfielder’s performances have fallen by the wayside in recent weeks.

Cesar Azpilicueta Chelsea

Teams seem to have figured out a way to nullify the Italian, and that leads to a lack of control from our midfielders.

While Chelsea need to figure that problem out, Hysaj would be a decent addition to an ageing squad. The 24-year-old is a quality player and would provide competition to Azpilicueta, something that Davide Zappacosta has not been able to do thus far.

The Chelsea team needs to bring in some players that know “Sarri-ball” well. That is the only way the side will develop under the Italian, and it will be interesting to see our activity in the coming transfer windows.
