Chelsea are lining up a move for Zenit St. Petersburg’s Leandro Paredes as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, according to the Sun.

The report claims that Chelsea want to find a suitable replacement for the Spaniard this week as he looks to join Monaco under former teammate Thierry Henry.

Nicolo Barella is the other player on the list for the Blues, however, the report claims that Cagliari are looking for £45m for the 21-year-old and Chelsea are not willing to pay the fee.

Paredes would be preferred to the Italian youngster given his experience, and he played a couple of seasons in the Serie A with Roma.

Chelsea need another player that can dictate the tempo as Fabregas can, and Paredes could be an interesting choice from Sarri.

The Blues currently have Jorginho who plays that role in our first-team but the Italian hasn’t been at his best in recent weeks.

There is a lack of competition for this particular position in the Chelsea side, and Sarri is right in trying to bring someone in the winter window.

The Blues have a chance of winning three trophies and are in the race for the final Champions League spot. We have a pretty decent side under Sarri but some positions need to be strengthened quickly.

The centre-backs could use another quality option while the same goes for our forward line. Hopefully, the management will help our manager land the right deals and make us a stronger unit for the rest of the campaign.
