“He reminds me of that Eric Cantona mindset” – Former Chelsea star wants club to move for PL star

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes Maurizio Sarri should sign Marko Arnautovic. The West Ham man has a slight injury at the moment but has been one of the best players for the Hammers in recent months.

The 29-year-old has 5 goals and 2 assists from 13 Premier League games this season and Cascarino believes we should sign the Austrian. While speaking to talkSPORT (h/t Express), he said:

“You know the one player I’d really want to take? Arnautovic. I’d take him in a heartbeat. I think he’d fit perfectly into Chelsea.”

The Express claims that Chelsea have been linked with Gonzalo Higuain after the struggles of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud in the Blues attack.

Cascarino believes that the West Ham striker actually has a bit of Eric Cantona in him and that he is a quality player even if he is inconsistent at times:

“The thing with Arnautovic – he reminds me of that Eric Cantona mindset. He thinks he’s good enough to be up there at the top table, and he is.

“He was dreadful at times last year, but there’s a real player in there and he needs a challenge.”

Alvaro Morata Chelsea

The former Blues striker didn’t claim that the Hammers were not challenging enough for Arnautovic but said that the 29-year-old is capable of playing for the best teams in England.

Chelsea have hit a bit of a blip in recent weeks with losses to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City.

Hopefully, we get things back on track and make it to the top four with a few quality signings in the winter window.
