Olivier Giroud to receive a start? – Predicted Chelsea line-up to face Manchester City

Chelsea were shocked in their previous clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers and face a real test on Saturday as we face Manchester City.

The Premier League leaders haven’t lost a single game this season, but we could throw a spanner in their hopes of winning the title by beating them at Stamford Bridge.

Maurizio Sarri was unhappy with the manner in which we responded after conceding against the Wolves, and the Blues will look to bounce back big time against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Chelsea have a more or less fit side for Sarri to select and here is our predicted line-up for the Blues.

Predicted Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Maurizio Sarri

Kepa Arrizabalaga (GK)

Kepa did not have a great game against the newly promoted side but needs to be at his best on Saturday against the Cityzens.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)

The Spanish defender has to be wary of the threat possessed by City’s attackers on Saturday.

David Luiz (CB)

This will be a real test for the Brazilian on Saturday as we take on one of the best teams in Europe.

Antonio Rudiger (CB)

The German defender is another player that has to play at his best as City have been scoring goals for fun.

Marcos Alonso (LB)

Alonso will have to be vigilant in attack and defence as the Spaniard needs to provide our forwards with quality passes.

Jorginho Chelsea

Jorginho (CM)

The Italian needs to manage the tempo really well on Saturday, and hopefully, he has a better showing on Saturday than in the game against Tottenham.

Mateo Kovacic (CM)

Kovacic hasn’t been brilliant for us in recent games but this could be the tie where we see the Croatian play out of his skin.

N’Golo Kante (CM)

It is still a surprise that Kante is playing a little ahead of Jorginho, but the Frenchman will need to have a huge game for Chelsea.

Eden Hazard (LW)

The Belgian hasn’t been great for us in recent games but this is the stage for the winger to shine.

Olivier Giroud of Chelsea
Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud (ST)

Alvaro Morata had a poor outing in midweek, and we should see Giroud start against Manchester City.

Pedro (RW)

Willian struggled against the Wolves and we should see Pedro start ahead of the Brazilian.
