Out-of-favour Chelsea star emerges as summer target for AC Milan

Cesc Fabregas of Chelsea scores against Derby County

Serie A giants AC Milan have held talks with Cesc Fabregas’ agents, according to Calciomercato (h/t Mirror).

The Spaniard has featured in three Premier League games as a substitute, and his only starts this season have come in the Europa League and League Cup.

The 31-year-old has been shunted down the pecking order due to the rise of Ross Barkley, and the signings of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.

The report claims that Fabregas is out of contract at the end of the season, and Milan are trying to persuade him to join the Italian side after his deal expires.

Milan’s Leonardo is an admirer of the former Barcelona star, as per the report, and has been in contact with Fabregas’ party regarding a move.

The Spaniard doesn’t get enough playing time under Maurizio Sarri and a move away would be ideal for the Chelsea midfielder.

It seems that we wouldn’t be able to get any money fro his transfer as he can move on a free at the end of the campaign.

Fabregas hasn’t really complained much about a lack of playing time and keeping him in the side this season should give us enough cover for the trio of competitions we are in currently.

The Blues are unbeaten in all competitions and we could do with the experience of the Spaniard for a few more months.
