“If I continue this way, I could sign for a big club” – Chelsea target hopeful of sealing move to bigger European club

Krzysztof Piatek

Krzysztof Piatek of Genoa is hopeful of sealing a move to one of the bigger clubs in Europa after a great start with the Italian club this season.

The 23-year-old Polish striker has nine goals from 12 games, and told Corriere della Sera (h/t Sun):

“I do feel a little like Christopher Columbus.

“He set out on an adventure from Genoa and the dream of any young player coming here is to use it as the starting point for a step up to a big club.

“If I continue this way, I could sign for a big club. My objective is to play in the Champions League.”

Maurizio Sarri Chelsea

The Genoa striker has been linked with a move to Chelsea (h/t Sun) while Liverpool are also interested in the forward.

The forward spoke about matching the level to that of Polish great Robert Lewandowski and added it was easy to score goals when playing for big clubs such as Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old started the season on fire but has found goals hard to come by in recent games. Piatek hasn’t fond the back of the net in the last five games with Genoa only picking up two draws from those ties.

Chelsea have had their struggles with forwards this season with neither Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata impressing.

Bringing a striker in who can score goals regularly will make the team stronger, and our spending in the winter window will be something to keep an eye on.
