Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has refused to rule out a move to Arsenal in an interview with Marca (h/t Express). The Spaniard hasn’t started a Premier League game for the Blues this season, and his contract is up at the end of the campaign.
The 31-year-old spent eight years at Arsenal before moving to Barcelona and has attracted interest from AC Milan.
The report claims the player is unlikely to get a new deal and could leave in the winter window too.
Fabregas was speaking to Marca (h/t Express) and was quoted as saying:
“Arsenal will always be in my heart and I will never forget them so why not return. You never know.”
Chelsea have a number of options for their midfield now, however, Fabregas isn’t too worried about his situation.
“I feel fine still. In seven months my contract ends with Chelsea.
“It will be 16 seasons playing at the highest level, over 750 games, a lot of training, travelling…
“I feel young and strong but maybe I can’t do 60 games a season.
“With my style I think I can keep playing for longer and obviously I want to keep playing for many years.”
Maurizio Sarri prefers a trio of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho in his first-team. Ross Barkley has found form this season and even made it to the England team in the last international break.
Another Englishman, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, scored a hat-trick in the last Europa League game and could be in the running for a starting spot.
