Chelsea star likens Maurizio Sarri to Premier League-winning manager

Pedro has been one of the best players for Chelsea this season, scoring three goals. The Spaniard, who has played a significant part in helping us win all six games since the start of this campaign, had words of praise for our new manager.

Maurizio Sarri didn’t have a lot of time to work with the side in pre-season but our winger claimed that the Italian and his former manager Pep Guardiola shared similar thought processes.

The former Barcelona winger was speaking to the Mirror (h/t Daily Mail) and said:

“It is a very good change for the team. You can see it is better from the results we are getting. It is really the same idea as Barcelona under Pep Guardiola. They (Sarri and Guardiola) are very similar in their ideas, their attacking ideas are the same.”

Pedro further talked about his target this season and believed he could score 20 goals.

“It is very competitive, this league, so I don’t know if I can get 20 goals but it is a very good challenge for me. Now I’m on three so 17 to go. Come on, it is possible.”

The Spaniard played in the 1-0 win over PAOK Salonika. However, he suffered an injury during the game. It will be interesting to see if Sarri decides to keep him in the side for the game on Sunday against West Ham.

The Hammers won their last game but if we play to our potential, it should mean six straight wins in the Premier League.
