West Ham United eyeing winter move for £120,000-a-week Chelsea flop

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata could be set for a January loan move, according to Transfer Market Web (h/t Express).

West Ham wanted the Spaniard in the summer but couldn’t sign him. Express claims they would be interested in targetting the striker again.

The former Real Madrid star, who currently earns £120,000-a-week, has struggled to score regularly for Chelsea. He is currently battling with Olivier Giroud for a first-choice striker role.

Morata was replaced by the French striker in our 4-1 win over Cardiff City. The latter looked better in the team as he set up two of Eden Hazard’s goals.

The report further adds that the Spaniard wants to play regular football.

West Ham would find it difficult to sign the Chelsea star since Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan could revive their interest from the summer window, as per the report.

The 25-year-old has one goal to his name this season and hasn’t been impressive. His desire to play regular football is good but Chelsea may not provide him with many opportunities.

We sent Michy Batshuayi on loan in the summer and hence, the club should look at a possible backup before sending the Spaniard away.

The Chelsea star might need fresh scenery to get back to his best. With that in mind, January could be an interesting month for the player and the club.
