Everton are looking to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on loan, according to the Mirror. Marco Silva faces a number of problems in central defence as only Phil Jagielka and Michael Keane are available.
The Everton manager also let Ashley Williams leave the side on loan to join Stoke City and Ramiro Funes Mori was allowed to join Villarreal.
The report also adds that Everton have discussed moves for Yerry Mina of Barcelona and Marcos Rojo of Manchester United but neither player is close to joining the Toffees.
Zouma spent last season on loan with Stoke too but had to deal with relegation at the end of the season. The French defender played 37 games for the Potters and him returning to the Premier League makes sense for both the club and the player.
It might be difficult for him to get regular playing time at Chelsea this season, so sending him out on loan makes sense.
The 23-year-old certainly needs to play regularly and maybe joining Everton is not the worst deal that we could get for the defender. Zouma suffered a long-term knee injury in 2016 (h/t Guardian) and has been working hard to get back to his best since making a recovery.

A good season with the Toffees would help Zouma revive his Chelsea career and he could be a part of the first-team in the future.
