Chelsea close to finalising an exit for Conte’s flop signing

Sky Sports claim that Chelsea are close to finalising an exit for Tiemoue Bakayoko, with the former Monaco man looking set to join AC Milan on a year-long loan.

The 23-year-old only joined us last summer for a fee of £40m (h/t Sky Sports). Bakayoko started 25 Premier League games last season but did not really perform brilliantly.

The report also adds that the loan deal for Bakayoko would include an option to buy the midfielder.

Chelsea have been busy in the transfer window, having signed Jorginho from Napoli permanently while Mateo Kovacic has joined us on a loan deal too.

While the trio of Ross Barkley, Cesc Fabregas and Jorginho started in the Community Shield against Manchester City, there was no place on the bench for Bakayoko even though we had Danny Drinkwater amongst the substitutes.

Sending Bakayoko away seems to make a lot of sense but not being able to sell him could be a problem for the club.

Chelsea haven’t sold many players this season and Thibaut Courtois is the only big loss for us.

However, we signed his replacement, Kepa Arrizabalaga for a world record fee and it will be important to see how the youngster performs at the Bridge.

Chelsea are under a new management and it might take time for us to see the best of the team but with Maurizio Sarri working hard with the side, we should see a different brand of football under the Italian.
