“I have always wanted to show myself at Chelsea” – 23-year-old loanee dreams of proving himself at Stamford Bridge

Kurt Zouma wants to showcase his abilities at Chelsea despite being on loan at Everton this season. The French defender joined the Toffees on a season-long loan and was quoted by the Telegraph claiming he wants to return to Stamford Bridge and prove his quality.

“I have always wanted to show myself at Chelsea since I have been there.

“I have always believed in myself since I started playing at 16. I know my injuries stopped me in the way I wanted to play, but injuries are part of football and I want to show people I can come back and play there. That’s why I need some game time at Everton because they are a good team.”

Zouma further added that Chelsea had a number of defenders in the team and the Frenchman was unwilling to spend time on the bench.

The 23-year-old was asked if he contemplated leaving the Blues on a permanent deal but that he confirmed that the thought hasn’t crossed his mind for now.

“No, not at the moment. Everton is a very good club. For me it’s a good chance to come in and I will give my all.”

The French centre-back added that he wants to play more this season. The Chelsea man also praised Marco Silva and the way Everton are being managed by the former Hull City manager.

Zouma does need to establish himself as a regular at Everton before he can think of starring for Chelsea.
