Worrying news for Chelsea as attacker prepared to snub £340,000-a-week salary to seal Real Madrid move [Marca]

Chelsea star Eden Hazard is set to decline a £340,000-a-week offer from the Blues and join Real Madrid, according to Marca.

In fact, Hazard has spoken about interest from the Madrid giants recently. Currently with Belgium for the ongoing World Cup in Russia, he has been one of their star players with a couple of goals to his name.

The report also claims that the Belgian is not moving for financial gains but instead wants to play for a side that “suits him” and a manager that can use his abilities to the fullest.

While it is true the likes of Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho are not attack masters, the man touted to be our new manager, Maurizio Sarri, could get Hazard to play a brand of football he likes.

Hazard has won almost everything there is to win at Chelsea and he could be on the lookout for a new challenge. After all, the Belgian is one of the best footballers in the world and if he is willing to ditch £340,000-a-week for a move, then perhaps we should look to get as much as we can from Real Madrid.

One thing we have seen is that if a club is difficult in negotiating with Real, they don’t always win. Case in point: Manchester United and David De Gea.

It is a necessity for us to retain Hazard’s services for the immediate future and maybe we should play hard-ball and make it tough for Real to sign the Belgian.
