Everton look to sign Chelsea World Cup star available on loan [Mirror]

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Everton manager Marco Silva is plotting a move to bring Ruben Loftus-Cheek over to Goodison Park, according to The Mirror.

The report claims that the new Everton boss has earmarked the Chelsea midfielder as he wants to take the Toffees into the top-six next season.

Loftus-Cheek is with the England World Cup squad and he even played in the 6-1 win over Panama. The 22-year-old was on loan last season at Crystal Palace, where he impressed enough to make the cut for the squad travelling to Russia.

The report claims that the Englishman would be available for another loan spell next season, even though there are a few within Chelsea that want him to be provided with a chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.

While Loftus-Cheek seems to be a player with immense potential, the upcoming campaign will be crucial for his growth.

It is a difficult decision to make as Loftus-Cheek recently spoke about wanting to play more football. But regular first-team football is unlikely to be a guarantee under us. Hence, sending him away on loan to Everton makes sense for the time being but his skills could truly work wonders for us next season. It’s a shame that we can’t guarantee him regular playing minutes.

Nevertheless, Loftus-Cheek’s stock will keep soaring as long as he performs in the World Cup and with England through to the knockout rounds, there will be a number of other clubs interested in our 22-year-old.
