Chelsea target’s agent reveals player has €50m clause but move could depend on Blues’ managerial target

Elseid Hysaj

Elseid Hysaj would be willing to join his former coach, Maurizio Sarri this summer according to the player’s agent. The Albanian has been linked with a big-money move to the Blues but the transfer has been left in limbo given the situation with our manager.

Antonio Conte has still not been sacked while Sarri has lost his job at Napoli with Carlo Ancelotti taking over at the Serie A side.

Hysaj’s agent, Mario Giuffredi has now made it clear that only a Premier League club can pay his release fee and that the move might also depend on Sarri.

While speaking to Radio CRC (h/t Football.London), Giuffredi said:

“He has a €50m release clause. I think only Premier League clubs can afford him, so his fate depends on Sarri.

“If the Tuscan Coach was to move to England, he could want [Hysaj]. Therefore, Hysaj could follow him. Failing that, it would be very difficult to see Hysaj away from Napoli.”

Manager issues affecting our transfer dealings

Had our situation with the manager been clear, we could have been planning for next season and would have probably signed a few players too. However, the condition is extremely concerning and if we are not careful, we might struggle to battle for a top-four place next season.

For once, a player’s agent actually makes sense and he has not said anything out of place. This statement from Giuffredi almost indicates that we are the only club in the running for Hysaj.

We might have a real chance of getting the defender once we get Sarri in but paying his release clause of €50m will be another story as Roman Abramovich still has issues with his UK visa.
