Chelsea have been dealt a significant blow by two of their targets, Robert Lewandowski and Jean Michael Seri, as reports claim that they will not sign for the club or hold talks until the managerial situation is cleared up.
The Times (h/t Metro) claims that Nice midfielder Seri has told the Blues that he will not finalise personal terms regarding a move to Stamford Bridge until a new manager comes to the club.
Lewandowski of Bayern Munich is also not going to listen to any offers from the Premier League giants until a new manager is brought to the club.
Antonio Conte has not yet been sacked from his role at the club while we have been linked with a move for Maurizio Sarri of Napoli.
The Italian club did appoint Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager but they have not removed Sarri from his post as they wait for Chelsea to make their move.
This was bound to happen and not solving our managerial conundrum before the start of next season will have a knock-on effect on the players coming into the club.
While Lewandowski and Seri are quality players that will improve any club they sign for, no player would want to commit their future unless they know what is exactly going on at the club.
Sarri might have his own ideas of what he wants to do with the players or who he might want to bring in and the sooner we can clear this issue up, the better it will be for our plans for next season.
