According to reports from France, Barcelona are plotting a move for one of our best players, N’Golo Kante. Le Parisien (h/t Metro) claims that the Spanish giants are rivalling Paris Saint-Germain for the former Leicester City midfielder and that the Catalan outfit had invited Kante’s family to watch one of the final games at the Nou Camp last season.
It was also claimed last week that PSG had opened negotiations with Chelsea regarding a deal for the 27-year-old. The Frenchman has become one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and has only gotten better with each season under his belt in the Premier League.
Kante won back-to-back Premier League titles with Leicester and us but last season was a bit of a downer given that we only won the FA Cup and did not finish in the top-four.
The 27-year-old stated that he is concentrating on the World Cup at the moment and is not paying attention to all these rumours about his future.
Nevertheless, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that top clubs are looking to sign one of the best players in the world. But Kante’s potential exit would be a big blow to the team, given how important he is.
The Frenchman does the work of almost two players in the heart of the park and his tackling and energy are second to none in the Premier League.
We have to do everything in our power to keep hold of one of our best players as we could receive more offers for him ahead of the new season.
