“I would like to play in the Premier League”: Transfer boost for Chelsea as top target drops massive message

Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain has come out and stated that he would like to play in the Premier League. Calciomercato (h/t Football.London) quoted the Argentina international as saying:

“I would like to play in the Premier League.”

This could be good news for Chelsea, who have been linked with a move for the former Real Madrid player. The Blues are even ready to orchestrate a swap deal, with Alvaro Morata going the other way after the Spaniard failed to light up the Premier League in his debut season.

Morata did spend two years at Juventus and completed the league and cup double with the Old Lady, so the move might make sense for the Spaniard.

The one big issue regarding this swap would be the age of Higuain. Even though the striker wants to play in England, it might be tough for him to adjust to the Premier League at the age of 30.

Morata, on the other hand, is only 25 and has time on his side to hone his skills and maybe even perform better next season.

The 25-year-old scored just 11 goals for us in the Premier League but what was more concerning for the striker was the fact that Olivier Giroud was preferred as our leading man after moving from Arsenal in the winter window.

Higuain, for his part, scored 23 goals last season for the Old Lady last season and has picked up the Scudetto for the last two years.

The Argentine might be looking for a new challenge but this transfer does not really make a lot of sense for Chelsea as they would lose a player that could improve next season for a player who has no Premier League experience.
