Abramovich the key as Chelsea aim to sign £80m-rated world-class goal machine

Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern Munich and sources close to the Polish star have confirmed to The Express that Chelsea have an interest in bringing the forward to England.

The Poland striker is rated at £80m and has three years left on his Bayern contract but his agent, Pini Zahavi has close relations with Roman Abramovich, according to the report, and that gives us a bit of an edge in competing with other clubs for Lewa’s signature.

Zahavi also stated that his player wants a new challenge and that this decision to leave Bayern is not motivated by money.

“Robert feels he needs a change and a new challenge in his career. The managers of Bayern know about it.

“His reasons are not money or a specific club, as nearly all top clubs would like to have the world’s best striker in their ranks.”

“Every one of the Bayern leadership had great careers themselves. They should understand his situation.”

Lewandowski has been on fire ever since he moved to Bayern from rivals Borussia Dortmund. The striker might be 29 but he has scored more than 40 goals in each of the last three seasons and has picked up the Bundesliga title with Bayern for four years in a row.

There is competition to sign the forward as Lewa is wanted by Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain too, which will make it an interesting summer for the 29-year-old to decide which club will be his next destination.

Lewa is one of the best strikers in world football and any club that does sign him will certainly see goals coming in from all around. It will also be interesting to see if he decides to make a move before the World Cup ends. Should he perform well, his price might go up.

The Pole certainly will be a great addition to the Blues, should we somehow land the striker. We did not have the best of seasons last time around, despite winning the FA Cup, and one way to get things going again could be landing Robert Lewandowski.
