So far into the summer Chelsea have signed only two new players into the squad, and now the Blues manager is thrilled with what is happening around him. The Italian manager has signed Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante into the squad this summer and as such we do know one thing that Conte is not done yet.
Gonzalo Higuain joined Juventus in a transfer worth £75.3m while United are on the lookout for Paul Pogba on a deal worth more than £100m, while Conte himself signed Batshuayi and Kante the combined fee for which being more than £60m, the Italian manager seems to be shocked with the rise in prices in the transfer market this summer, where the transfer fee has gone to £95m, £100m or £120m and so on.
“This season we are seeing a crazy market. It’s incredible,” he said.
“I don’t know if this situation can continue. It’s very difficult for all the teams to try and buy the players. Now, we are starting to speak about 100 million, 120 million, 95 million, and these prices are incredible.”
The manager believes that spending money is not the motive of the transfer instead it is about bringing in the right player and working with them to grow in the sport.
The Italian added: “But this is football now. It’s important that we must maintain the passion. This is the most important thing, to transfer our passion and transfer it to fans and players.
“The money is important but not everything. It is important for the clubs to reach the right targets not to spend because we want to spend money. It’s right to take the player and adapt to our idea of football.”
