Chelsea have been linked with Kalidou Koulibaly for some time now and after watching Manchester City’s bid for Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci fall, the Blues are weighing their options regarding their offer for Koulibaly.
Reports suggest that the Blues are willing to offer £40m for the Napoli defender in addition to a huge wage boost of approximately £1m a season, for the player if he does move to the Stamford Bridge. Further, Chelsea have been handed a boost as the player himself has spoken about his desire to move out of the Serie A club after his talks with Napoli broke down.
If reports are to be believed then the Blues have been informed that any bid in the region of £30m will not be entertained by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis. Conte who was also looking out for Bonucci is now set to work a deal for Koulibaly after seeing Manchester City’s bid of £38m rejected by Juventus.
