Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato is open to a move back to the Stamford Bridge, after having spent the second half of the 2015-2016 campaign at the Blues.
The player who arrived at Chelsea on a loan deal from Corinthians made only two appearances for the Blues scoring in one, however lacking match fitness the player did not feature in any other matches for Chelsea.
Pato’s contract with Corinthians is set to expire in December which would turn him into a free agent as so far there has been no talk of a new contract or extension being offered. Further, the player has been linked with a move to Inter Milan, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras and Flamengo, however, his agent Gilmar Veloz claims that the player is still committed to Chelsea and wants to stay with the Blues. Veloz further states that Pato has a four year deal on the table, however, it will be up to Chelsea if they want to exercise the deal.
“Pato has already [reportedly] signed with Inter, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras, Flamengo — how is he going to sign when he has a contract with Chelsea until June 30?” Veloz told Globoesporte.com when asked about the speculation surrounding Pato’s future.
“He has a document there ready for a four-year contract if Chelsea wished to exercise it. I do not know if they are going to, I am not Roman Abramovich.
“If they decide not to buy him, it will be up to Corinthians to decide what to do. Pato is on holiday waiting on his future.”
