There is a lot going on in the pursuit of Radja Nainggolan and as per various reports there may be unforeseen circumstances that may force Chelsea to abandon the chase. But the Blues’ fans need not worry as Chelsea seems to have several backups for that as well.
As per The Sun, the club is preparing a bid for Juventus player Stefano Sturaro as an alternative to Nainggolan. The player is currently playing under Antonio Conte for Euro 2016 and may be available for a fee in the range of £20 million. There are reports that Nemanja Matic may be heading out of Stamford Bridge to follow Jose Mourinho and in that case Chelsea would need to strengthen substantially in the midfield.
A £15 million bid from Southampton was rejected by Juventus for the 23 year old players, but the Blues believe that higher amount will change the mind of the Old Lady. Stephan Licksteiner from Juventus is also another target so we could have a double deal in our hands.
