The report from Mirror states that the La Liga club has told Chelsea that if they want to get the midfielder then they have to pay £42 million for him. The reason for this hefty price tag is that the player’s 25% stake still lies with his previous club Benfica. Antonio Conte is desperate to strengthen the midfield and after the move for Radja Nainggolan has lead into a dead end, the Italian manager has shifted his focus to the Portuguese midfielder.
The Mirror report further adds that the Blues had made a bid of £27 million earlier for Nainggolan but that has been rejected by AS Roma. Now the question is; with almost twice the price is Andre Gomes the right option?
