Chelsea Round Up: Crazy Swap Deal Linked With Manchester United, Bid For Ligue 1 Midfielder And More

Chelsea have been linked with a number of high profile players this summer with incoming manager Antonio Conte looking to rebuild the entire squad, however, so far the Blues have not signed any player into the Stamford bridge.

Chelsea are looking to sign Sofiane Boufal into the squad this summer from Lille, and Blues are depending upon their good relationship with the club (having bought Eden Hazard from Lille) to get the deal through. The Moroccan international has enjoyed an excellent campaign in Ligue 1, attracting the interest of a number of clubs, but Chelsea are confident that he could be Antonio Conte’s first signing. Boufal scored 11 goals in Ligue 1 this season.

Further the Blues are looking out for Barcelona’s Sergio Gomez this summer. The Blues are hoping that the player could be tempted to make a move out of the Nou Camp and are willing to pay £7 million as a compensation so as to avoid battle with the club for the player’s services. However, the Blues are not the only ones looking to sign the player as they are set to face strong competition from Liverpool for the same.

Recent reports suggest that incoming Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is offering a swap deal to Chelsea, which would involve Nemanja Matic heading out of the Blues while Matteo Darmian will head to the Stamford Bridge from United.
