Chelsea’s Dream Defensive Line Up To Play In Conte’s 3-5-2 Formation Next Season

The Italian side have qualified for EURO 2016 quarter finals after humiliating the defending champions Spain with a stunning 2-0 win last night in Pairs. We are pretty sure that almost every Chelsea fan is currently observing Italy’s performance keenly to understand, how their team will operate next season.

Conte is deploying his master plans with sheer excellence as his Italian side is working brilliantly. There were many glimpses of his tactical brilliance in the game and the Spanish players had no answers for that. Their intensity of pressing the Spanish players into their own half was worth watching and besides that, the back line was their unbreakable substance.

Conte is known to play three centre halves, and those three players usually possess a muscular built, and besides that, sometimes one of them loves to travel forward as a ball playing defender, and last night, it was Bonucci.

The Stamford Bridge spectators are about to witness a high quality football. Conte is usually known for his in game reactions as he gets involved in the game right from the first whistle. While Del Bosque was sitting on the bench thinking about his next move to break the Italian wall, Conte was working on the sidelines to instruct his forwards to rush towards the Spanish post.

It is obvious that Conte will be playing a somewhat similar tactic at the Bridge, but for that, he will have to add some faces, who could fit his criteria. Three at the back formation didn’t work for United under Louis van Gaal and the reason being; their inability to give a muscular presence, but by adding some great names, Chelsea might use this formation with ease.

So, here we give you the dream defensive lineup for Chelsea:

Starting from the right back slot; it is reported that Chelsea are currently chasing the Swiss international defender, Stephan Lichtsteiner. Barcelona have recently completed the signing of the former Barcelona man Dani Alves, and therefore, Lichtsteiner’s playing time might get affected.

Conte’s full-back usually works forward and that allows them to press the opponents in their own half. Stephan, 32, has already worked under Conte, and he knows how to work his tactics. With him playing on the right will give Willian a great space to rush inside the box from the flanks.

At the left area, Chelsea could deploy Cesar Azpilicueta. The 26-year-old Spanish international was arguably the best defender for the Blues. There are some speculations going on about his possible exit from the Bridge, but we are sure that Conte will handle this with style. He is tough as well as a quick defender and loves to rush forward at times. He could become one of the most entertaining defenders in the league next season.

If considering the formation 3-5-2, then Chelsea will have to sign a centre half to create a sublime wall to guard the post. Gary Cahill had a tough time last season, but no one could really blame the Englishman when almost every player were under performing. Cahill is an experienced defender and his position at the back is retained for sure. Alongside Cahill, Conte might use the young and dynamic French defender Kurt Zouma. The 21-year-old defender had a pretty good start, but missed the campaign following the injury he picked up against Manchester United.

Zouma is a strong and tall centre half, who loves to engage himself in the tackles, and would do everything for the team. Now, with Zouma and Cahill, Conte will need a partner, who could complement them, and most importantly, who could adapt himself in the Premier League in no time. The recent reports from many media houses are stating that the Blues are desperately Chasing Juventus’ centre back Leonardo Bonucci. The 29-year-old Italian defender is expected to join Conte at Chelsea after spending  six successful years at Turin. The Italian is understood to be the replacement for John Terry, who might not get many chances under Conte.

Leonardo has been showing his excellence for years and maybe this is the time, when he should move away from Italy to experience a life in one of the most competitive leagues in the world.

With this defensive lineup, Chelsea will surely become one of the most dominant force in England.
