Last week Sky Sport had reported that the Blues had approached Napoli officials for Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly and a possibility of a move to Stamford Bridge. However a follow up report suggested that the bid had been turned down.
Now Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Chelsea are not willing to let go of Koulibaly easily and the club is preparing a fresh bid for the player. Antonio Conte is said to be keen on signing the player, who he thinks will be able to make a considerable contribution to the club. While the Italian club wants to keep their center back, the report suggests that the player’s valuation in Italy is around £23 million and a bid of that range will be able to change the mind of Napoli officials.
Koulibaly has made 42 appearances for the club this season in all competition and has caught the eyes of Chelsea with his stable and impressive performance.
