A Look Back At The Game At Stamford Bridge – Chelsea Player Ratings vs Leicester City

Chelsea signed off the season with a 1-1 draw against the Champions, Leicester City with Cesc Fabregas scoring from the penalty spot and Danny Drinkwater, who has been selected in the provisional squad for the Euros for the three lions responded with a thunderous strike to share the spoils at Stamford Bridge. The blues gave a guard of honour and the gave the foxes a standing ovation specially to Claudio Ranieri.

The game was played at a slow speed and was at times looking like a game with no hurry for both the sides and played the game just for the sake of it. After the game, a brilliant speech by John Terry gave the fans something to cheer about and the Stamford Bridge faithful gave their legend a standing ovation except Michael Emenalo. It is obvious something is wrong with the board when a true legend is not respected by the club’s director. Let’s take a look at the player ratings from the game against Leicester :

1. Thibaut Courtois : 6

Made some fine saves, but was helpless with Drinkwater’s goal.

2. Cesar Azpilicueta: 6.5

Was good defensively and should have got an assist with a delightful cross for Pedro.

3. Branislav Ivanovic: 6

Handled the challenge of Vardy well and had a decent outing.

4. Gary Cahill : 6

Showed his experience with his display in the last game of the season.

5. Baba Rehman : 7

Best performance in a blue shirt. Looked confident throughout the game and kept Mahrez quiet.

6. Nemanja Matic : 5.5

Shielded the defense well and won the penalty for the blues.

7. Cesc Fabregas : 6.5

Emerging as a leader for Chelsea and looking like the player of last season with a cool finish from the spot.

8. Pedro : 6

Decent game all round, should have scored a goal, but was judged rightly offside.

9. Willian : 6

Immense work rate as usual and finished a consistent season with a fine display.

10. Eden Hazard : 5

Seemed to be already making his mind for the Euros and was absent for majority parts of the game.

11. Bertrand Traore : 5

Had some chances, but was disappointing to say the least.

Subs :

Ruben Loftus Cheek : 6

Steady performance and deserves a place in the first team squad under Conte.

Tammy Abraham : 6

Unlucky not to score and a loan in the championship next campaign would do him a favour.

Fikayo Tomori : 6.5

First appearance for the youngster and showed what he is capable of in his little cameo.
