Chelsea are interested in Antoine Griezmann and was preparing to chase the striker vigorously in the summer. However after the player’s interview with Canal Plus, the push for the player is set to reduce.
In the interview the player has revealed that he is currently under negotiation with the club regarding extending his contract and the talks are moving in the right direction. The Frenchman was targeted by Chelsea as a possible replacement for Diego Costa, who has revealed his interest in leaving the club earlier this season.
Irrespective of the interview Chelsea fans can take the news comparatively lightly as a similar situation had happened with Diego Costa’s transfer. It could very well be that the contract is being renewed to increase the price of the player and he may actually be available for a sale soon.
