According to Daily Mail, Chelsea are preparing to close to completing a deal for Gonzalo Higuain in the summer. The Napoli sharpshooter has been in heavy demand after his exploits with the Serie A club and has attracted interest from several European heavyweights.
In a recent turn of events, the player has also informed the club that he does not want to renew the contract at Napoli indicating a preferred move away from the club. The player is not going to be cheap though and Chelsea are set to be preparing an offer of £42 million to land the striker.
The same report also has suggested that Higuain would like to be the club’s main striker and will prefer not to play alongside Diego Costa in order to reduce competition. However Costa’s future itself is in doubt with several reports claiming that the player wants to move back Atletico Madrid in the summer.
