Fifa is currently investigating Chelsea F.C. and if found guilty may face a transfer ban. It has been alleged that the Blues have play Burkina Faso striker Bertrand Traore. As per the complaints he played in an under 18 match against Gunners without being registered.
Fifa became aware of the incident only recently when someone found his name on Arsenal website which listed squads involved in the match. At the time of the match Traore was 16 and as per international rules, a player under 18 cannot make overseas transfers except for a few scenarios. The player’s transfer was not one of them and Chelsea apparently made him play because they believed that such youngsters could play in non-competitive games. However, U18 Premier League is considered an actual tournament.
If found guilty, Chelsea may face transfer ban just like how Barcelona faced last year and currently Real and Atletico may face. Talk about joining the big league.
