The Brazil born Spanish striker’s midweek comments on his future at Chelsea has sparkled rumours of him returning to the Madrid based side Atletico de Madrid. And with reported fallout between him and the Blues’ manager Jose Mourinho further coming into light, the days of the ex-Atletico man at Stamford Bridge may be numbered.
Also, the suffering of the current champions has been mainly due to lack of goals and poor attacks and the fact that Diego Costa has been struggling with his form probably suggests why he should be replaced. The Atletico Madrid man was wanted by Mourinho in the past transfer window, though Chelsea were unable to sign him and he remained with the La Liga giants back then. After yet another impressive season in Spain, there is no doubt that a host of clubs from England will look to sign him.
The France international has scored 12 times in 25 appearances and won’t come cheap, with Atletico recently adding a €80m release clause in his current contract. There is no doubt that he is a renowned goalscorer and signing him could surely solve a lot of problems for the Londoners.
