Predicted Chelsea Lineup To Play Against Norwich City: Rahman, Ramires And Pedro To Start

Chelsea’s dreadful start for the season still continues and fans are still gutted by the fact that what exactly is going on in the Chelsea camp. After achieving a league double last season, Chelsea’s slump has been worrying fans, owner and manager Jose Mourinho alike. The previous fixture against Stoke City ended in a 1-0 loss for the Pensioners and post international break they look set to face 15th placed Norwich City. One single point separates both the teams as Norwich have tallied 12 points so far this season. Meanwhile, Chelsea occupies 16th spot and just 3 points split them from relegation threatened Bournemouth. So without much ado let us analyze the possible line-up that could face the Canaries in the home fixture.

GK: Asmir Begovic

The Bosnian goalkeeper has got a fair share of opportunities this season. With Thibaut Courtois expected to stay out due to a freakish injury that he picked early this season, Begovic is an undoubted starter for Saturday’s fixture,

RB: Cesar Azpilicueta

Azpilicueta has been the silver lining of the dark cloud for Chelsea this season. He has played both as a left back and a right back. He has been extremely industrious and his work rate has been praised by a lot of pundits. Apart from that his attacking contributions have been with 4 key passes and a pass completion ratio of 77%. Azpilicueta is the driving force that could pull back Chelsea from the defensive nightmare that they are facing.

CB: Kurt Zouma

The French prodigy is having a mixed season to say the least. He has been solid and sturdy at the back but has shown signs of inconsistency. A few error prone clearances and immature defending has costed Chelsea. His performance in the previous game against Stoke City was nice and sturdy. He gave the Stoke attackers a taste of their own medicine. Fairly, straightforward this picking!

CB: John Terry

Some might believe that Brainslav Ivanovic or Cesc Fabregas have been the ones who have seen a major dip in their forms. But, as for me it has to be John Terry. The club legend and captain was the key stalwart at the back and the Terry-Cahill duo was like a brick wall but this season Terry has been out of form a lot of times. Yet his leadership qualities and passion for the club puts him above Gary Cahill.

LB: Baba Abdul Rahman

Baba Rahman has been another player whose inconsistency has been mentioned a lot. The Ghanaian international shows a mature head over young shoulders but in many a times gets beaten by some gifted dribbling skills from oppositions. Last time around, Xherdan Shaqiri completely bossed the left back. However, with time on his side the full back will improve his game and back the potential that he is destined for.

CM: Nemanja Matic and Ramires

Nemanja Matic has been in decent form this season and there isn’t any reason that he should be replaced. As for Ramires, he has been the revelation for Chelsea this season. The Brazilian has done enough to replace previous season’s favorite Cesc Fabregas from the first team. His performances have earned him a new contract which keeps him in the club till 2020.

CAM: Willian

Willian has been providing the creative spark which he missed in his previous seasons at Chelsea. However, his performances haven’t got the result that Chelsea would have hoped for. The Brazilian attacker is an amazing runner with and without the ball. His ball control and pace have been incredible. His free-kick attribute has clicked and he has become the premium choice as a set piece specialist.

RW: Pedro

Pedro arrived at the Stamford Bridge with much pomp and fest as Chelsea had to fend off competition from Manchester United to sign the Barcelona loyalist. His debut match against West Brom was amazing and the game ended as a 3-2 win for Chelsea. But since then things have taken a turn for the worse and Pedro’s situation has been going downhill. Also, Pedro’s injuries and lack of game time have created rumors of him returning back to his former club Barcelona.

LW: Eden Hazard

Hazard’s season so far has been traumatic. After being linked to Ronaldo and Messi, the Belgian’s form has been really bad to say the least. The way Hazard used to perform last season and the way he is currently performing, he has seen himself as the target for internet memes. With all the jokes and parodies being created a player to come out of it is pretty difficult and Eden Hazard would surely want to bounce back and shun the haters.

ST: Diego Costa

Diego Costa is another Chelsea player who has been a target of the social media. After an amazing start to life at Stamford Bridge much better things were expected from the Spaniard. The aggressive striker has managed to score just two goals so far this season in the Premier League which is pretty less considering the start he made last season.
